Fernando: We footballers have a reputation, a pattern.. all the same; everyone is looking for fame, money, cars, women, [etc]. When you generalize, you commit injustices, but Juan is quite the opposite… When he came to the National Team, we became great friends. He’s very, very normal, very quiet, he likes having fun with friends, being with his family, going for coffee, movies, normal stuff.
Juan: As a person, the truth is I have no words, everything he [Fernando] has done for me since I came here. He was a key part for me to come. I talked to him and he said I would be very comfortable here and that I would enjoy English football. Thanks to him then yes, I came. I can say that he is important and has helped me since I came across. In dealing with people, he left me his car, his house when I wanted, he left me everything… for me it was a great help.
